I’m Like a Geek, but Without All the Skills and Technical Knowledge

The past couple of weeks have been quite busy for me! Aside from work and all of the other ‘happenings’ going on in my life, I’ve just setup two webpages:  www.MichaelMcKinlay.com and www.OmoshiroiEigo.com

Recently, my good friend Nick told me about one of his many interesting and useful websites (www.longcountdown.com) He had quite a bit of success with it and I thought that was pretty cool. He suggested that I make my own sites as well! He started telling me a bit about HTML which actually intimidated me since it brought back those “ghastly” memories of programming in C+ in University. I soon learned that HTML code was not too bad and so I started practicing making webpages using notepad and html… Finally, I got to a point where it was time to put my work online! To be honest, I was a bit hesitant cause while hosting fees are not too expensive I just thought this may be another fad for me and that I would just be wasting my money. Well… so far, so good… 2 weeks ago I put up OmoshiroiEigo.com and now MichaelMcKinlay.com is online!

I am quite enjoying this and while I have learned a lot in these past couple of months, I realize that I have only scratched the surface when it comes to web design! I’m quite thankful to have Nick walk me through everything. To be honest, this and my other site would have been completely impossible without his guidance and patience! He knows so much about computers and the net. Although I’m not a complete dummy when it comes to computers(ok I lied, I am!!) there is no way I could have done this on my own.

I am proud to say that www.MichaelMcKinlay.com has come in to the world and who knows what mischief and shannanigans I will get myself in to??? Stay tuned!
