In March I will go to Japan for vacation for just over two weeks!  I cannot wait!!!
The last time I was in Japan was 3 years ago. At that time, I was there on a working holiday. During that last visit I only stayed for 3 months. I probably would have stayed longer but I got a job interview in Canada and because it was a promising interview decided to pack my bags and head back home. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the job but it wasn’t all bad as after 3 months of returning I ended up getting a job at the Consulate-General of Japan which was a great experience.
I’ve been to Japan 4 times now…the first time was as a tourist for a week, the second time as an English teacher with the JET Program for a year, the third time as an intern with Medicine Hat College for 2 months, and the final time on a working holiday for 3 months.
I will be going there in mid-March and will stay just over 2 weeks. I am very excited as Im going to see and stay with some very close friends. I haven’t really had a real vacation for quite some time and so I think this trip will be great!Â
I am planning on buying my first digital camera just before I go. Yes, I know its crazy that I don’t already have one but how else could I keep it real? Anyway you can look forward to some cool shots here, in around late March and early April!

My name is Michael McKinlay and I live in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Although I was born here, I have lived in a few other places in Western Canada such as, Saskatoon, Regina, Medicine Hat, and Edmonton. I also spent time in Hong Kong and Japan. [
If you’re getting a digital camera so you can upload photos to the web, don’t bother spending a fortune ‘coz you’ll have to compress the pictures in order to keep the file size small, and that will lower the quality.
Looking forward to seeing you when you come over!
Thanks for the advice Nick! Will do! Although I want to get a good camera that will take decent video as I would like to make some videos for my websites! Yes, we need more skits!
Hi Mike. I had a waterproof and hardshock digital camera.
I love it!!! It wont be too expensive. Go to discount shop or you can bargen it saying Japanese. jejeje
Enjoy your holidays!!!
Yeah those waterproof cameras could come in handy, especially for hiking in the mountains!
