Black History Month
February 13th, 2007 by Mike
February is Black History Month and even though Im not black(or hardly know anyone who is black) I would like to celebrate it by showing a couple of my favorite hip hop videos.
The first one is by Public Enemy and is entitled “Brother’s Gonna Work It Out.” Im not really a huge rap fan but back in the day when I was kickin it with my homies in da street, this was the bomb yo!!! I mean who can forget Flavor-Flav??? This video makes me want to buy some pajamas, baby bonnet, giant lollipop, over sized clock, baby bottle and a pacifier!!! aiiiiiiiiiiiiiight????? yeah boyeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! Yo Flavor, tell em what time it is!!! (unfortunately this video kind of cuts out before the song does but I guess you can blame that on the MAN!!!) So I guess Flavor won’t tell you what time it is……
Second up is “The Humpty Dance” by Digital Underground sung by who else but Humpty himself. I wonder what Humpty is doing these days….. Anywho, listen to the lyrics as you might hear something you never realized was there. I mean I remember this song back in the day but I never realized how many times he calls himself a freak… (I like it when he rhymes about gettin busy and the fat girl… ) My favorite part would have to be near the end of the song when he sings the baseline groove.. duuuuuuuuuuuuureeeeeeeeeeduuuuuuuuurrreeeeee…Do the Humpty Hump, come on and do the Humpty Hump!!!!
Oh yeah and for the first little bit there is no sound, but don’t worry it will eventually kick in!

I love that… my name is Humpty, pronounced with an ‘umpty’. Classic!
