Everyday I Love You Less & Less
April 19th, 2007 by Mike
I have two great passions in life, comedy and music. Actually, I have more but we won’t go in to them here.
I haven’t written too much about music lately but I’ve just had this song in my head and I can not get it out. This song came out a couple of years ago but its ever so catchy, not to mention funny, and therefore a perfect fit for www.michaelmckinlay.com
It is entitled, “Everyday I love you less and less” by the Kaiser Chiefs. There are a few things that I love about this song. Please read the following then watch for them when you watch the video below.
1. The title - Im sick of hearing about how people are so in love with each other in songs.. lyrics like “I’d die for you, I’d lie for you..” / “you are the wind beneath my wings…” Come on people, we all have a bit of hate in our hearts and so let’s do the right thing and release that hate, but in a super, happy, fun, comedy, corner way!
2. The background vocals - You’ll see and hear the drummer singing “ooooo ah ah ah!!!” Kind of sounds like Count Dracula from Sesame Street, and that’s cool! He also sings other background vocals throughout the song making the song even more fun!
3. Lyrics - How can you go wrong with:
Ohhhhhh and my parents love me/nananananana/Ohhhhhhh and my girlfriend loves me/nananana/Ohhhhhhh they keep photos of me!!!/nananananana/Ohhh that’s enough love for me!
4. Towards the end of the song there is one part where things start building up and they all start screaming…. oooooooooooooooooohhhhh / oohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh / ohhhhhhhhhhhhh / ohhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Unfortunately I could not import the video to this page so to watch it click here!
Oh yeah and this video is a bit weird since they are lip synching to their own song. This is probably due to the fact that it’s a network pop show. Anyway, the lead singer’s actions are pretty entertaining! Enjoy!
