Tarako Tarako Tarako… You Japanese Girls Have Me Hypnotized!

April 25th, 2007 by Mike

A few posts back I wrote about how when I was in Japan, I saw a Japanese Children’s show which blew my mind. The memory inspired me to write about it and if you like you can check the original post out here.

Tonight I was on YouTube and I came across the video posted below. I did a bit more research in to it and I guess it has become all the rage over there. Although I think it was released a few months ago, and so now it’s probably past it’s prime… That’s one thing about Japan, there is always a fad.. Anyway this video also blows my mind so check it out! I think its an extended commercial for a brand of Pasta but who really cares?

The hats and the dance moves rule!

Thanks for that Mike. I was glued to my screen for the full 4 minutes. Exciting stuff!!! If you want to know what it’s all about, it’s explained here.

My niece is the one on the left in the tall hat. (Really! My brother is her dad.) We are very proud of her! And she is a very sweet, unspoiled child. She really has no idea of the phenomenon she has helped to unleash.

I can’t imagine what kind of “proof” I could offer to “prove” that she is my niece. Her name is Haruka Jorgensen, and my brother’s last name is Jorgensen, and my maiden name was Jorgensen (naturally!), but there is no way I will post further personal details like birthdates or places of birth on the internet!

Actually, I was trying to google her website http://www.kigurumi777.com to send the link to a friend and I got your website. Then I watched her video again because it was there.

I have been trying to get my brother to list Haruka’s showbiz credits with imdb.com and/or wikipedia.com to help establish her career because she has done other showbiz spots on Japanese TV like playing a bunny on one of the variety shows. Also her twin brother Gerard has done occasional modeling and showbiz stuff.

Thanks for your comments! The world is a small place! So is Haruka half Japanese and half American? Just curious.
