The Office

July 18th, 2007 by Mike

One of my favorite tv shows is “The Office.” There are two versions of “The Office,” as this show first became popular in England. After having a lot of success in the UK it was brought over to the States, however quite a few adjustments were made to suit the American audience.

For the better part of my career, I’ve worked in an office and I suppose the experiences that I’ve had have made the show most interesting as I can definitely relate to it.

There are a number of characters in the show but a couple of the stand outs are “Jim” and “Dwight.” Jim and Dwight are about the same age (about 28) and are both salesmen, however that is where the similiarities end.Their personalities could not be anymore different. Dwight is basically a nerd who takes himself too seriously and Jim is a laid back guy who happens to be very bored with his work. To keep himself and the other co-workers entertained Jim often plays pranks on Dwight.

In the following clip, Jim dresses up and acts like Dwight. Dwight retaliates by doing the same thing to Jim. Jim does a great job of acting like Dwight but Dwight does an even better job of of Dwight acting like Jim. Hope you know what I mean!

I have the first few episodes of the British version on DVD, but have only seen clips of the U.S version…. and that’s not enough to help me decide how good these impersonations are. But if you say they’re good, I believe you net buddy!
