I have a friend who just happens to be a ballerina. She is actually from Japan but decided to come to Calgary to study under a world renowned teacher. I was well aware that she had studied ballet most of her life and so I naturally assumed that she was at a very high level, but until tonight I had never actually seen her perform.
Tonight we went for a walk and just happened to pass by her ballet school. She pointed to the school’s sign which had a ballerina on it. When I saw this I jokingly said, “oh is that you?” She then replied, “Yes, it is.” I couldn’t believe it at first as the dancer featured was in a perfect pose. Granted, I know absolutely nothing about ballet, but it certainly looked perfect to me! I then looked closely at the ballerina’s face and sure enough it was her! Take a look!
I’m not sure if there is a moral to this story, but if there is I guess it would be that you should never underestimate your friends and their abilities. Not that I did, but I have to say I am amazed and stupified by her incredible talent!
