U of C Dino’s Football

October 27th, 2007 by Mike

U of C Dinos vs U of S Huskies Sept 2007

About a month ago I attended the U of C’s first regular season game at McMahon Stadium in Calgary. They were playing the University of Saskatchewan Huskies, who are usually a very highly ranked football team in the Canadian University League.

I don’t know very much about football as I never played it seriously growing up. I do know that the teams are huge, just look at the picture below. Take a look at how many players there are on the sidelines and then there are even more players on the field. The amount of resources used to support them must be huge!

Anyway it was a pretty good game but unfortunately the Dino’s lost. I’m starting to think that my attendance at any game is a curse because I’ve not been to one Dino’s game this year where they’ve won!

How do people know which Dinos you are talking about if they have the same name as the hockey team? Anyway, great pictures… I wonder how they keep the grass so immaculate??? Any reason as to why the other stand is completely empty?

We simply specify that it was the men’s football, soccer, whatever team that played….

The grass is actually fake… some kind of new and improved astro turf…

Not that many people come to the games so i guess they prefer to put everyone on one side…
