Earlier today, I wrote about the funny English used on a package of Japanese cigarettes. The Japanese are kind of famous for this, although I’m sure a number other non-English speaking countries do the same thing.
That aside, there is one comedian from the America who is known for his funny use of the English language. His name is Stephen Colbert and he has just published a book entitled, I am America, (And So Can You!) One of my blogger friends, Jason wrote about him in a post entitled, The Genius of Stephen Colbert.
Colbert has spawned the word “truthiness.” The definition for “truthiness” is to describe things that a person claims to know intuitively or “from the gut” without regard to evidence, logic, intellectual examination, or facts. I don’t consider myself a big fan of Colbert’s but I love the title.

My name is Michael McKinlay and I live in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Although I was born here, I have lived in a few other places in Western Canada such as, Saskatoon, Regina, Medicine Hat, and Edmonton. I also spent time in Hong Kong and Japan. [
Stephen Colbert is one of my favourite personalities. If you get a chance to read his book, you’ll be laughing for hours
Yeah, he is so popular now! By the way when I took the photo in the bookstore I had a glance. It looked to be pretty funny but I couldn’t stay for very long, so I had to put it down…
He’s damn hilarious man, hail Stephen!
