Boots for Working Overtime

November 21st, 2007 by Mike

Every summer when I was in high school I looked for jobs to make a bit of money. I had few construction jobs and to work at those sites it was a requirement to have Steel Toe Boots. Obviously, the boots were for protection as there were a number of different hazards on the site.

I remember that those boots were pretty expensive but they were a necessary expense. Thankfully, construction jobs paid a bit more than the average job in the mall and so it didn’t take too long to pay them off.

I remember one summer working at a transmission shop. My job there was to move transmissions from one room to another and man, transmissions are heavy. Not only that, but transmissions are oddly shaped and covered in oil which makes grabbing and holding on to them tricky. I’m so lucky I didn’t drop one on my foot cause at that time they didn’t require us to wear steel toed boots.

I found my boots at a regular store but if I would have had the internet I would have been more likely to find a better deal. There are so many places to shop online and at Metboots you can get free shipping on order’s over a certain amount, in addition to their deals.
