Las Vegas Cover Band “The Crashers”

As I was saying in an earlier post there is plenty to see along Las Vegas’ Fremont Street. In addition to meeting a pimp, witnessing motorcycles take on a steel ball of death(upcoming post), listening to some crazy religious fanatics(also upcoming), I saw this rock band. I should also not forget to mention that all of this was FREE to watch.

The band’s name is The Crashers. I take it that they are strictly a cover band as they played famous songs from different artists all night. I have to say they were the best cover band I’ve ever heard. Although to be honest I haven’t seen a lot of cover bands and I only heard them play about 6 songs. However, they did a great job with every song they played and very much sounded like the true artists which I thought was amazing.

They played songs by Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Metallica, The Clash, Ozzy Osbourne, and as you’re about to hear AC/DC. Nearly every band member sang a song which is also impressive since they were all great vocalists. The main guitarist did a great rendition of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a prayer” however the best song I heard that night was sung by the bassist who sang “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC. His voice sounded just like Brian Johnston’s which was pretty amazing. Check out the video below to hear what I’m talking about.

It was a free show but quite a crowd gathered around and it’s easy to see in the video that people were having a good time. I didn’t notice this at the time but take a look at security guard in the video in front of the stage. He is just off to the right and he is wearing a baseball cap. Keep an eye on him cause while he is initially watching the stage to make sure that no one jumps on it, but he then starts head-banging with the best of them. I’ve been to a lot of rock concerts but I’ve never seen a security guard banging his head as hard as the fans! Another one to watch is this little girl in pigtail’s, she’s like 6 I guess but even she got in to it.

If you liked what you heard you may want to check out their homepage, here. It doesn’t look like it’s updated too often but you may be able to watch some more videos there.
