Fremont Viva Vision

If you’ve been reading my blog lately you’ll have seen that I’ve been writing a lot about what I did in Vegas, particularly what I did on Fremont Street. I mean there were so many things that I saw like, the motorcycles of death, an awesome cover band, and where I met a true playa’ pimp yo!

Fremont Street is covered by a huge roof which is actually the world’s largest television. It’s free to watch but they mostly show videos promoting gambling and so in a way it’s kind of like watching a commercial. Having said that, it’s still pretty cool since it’s such an amazing light show with a lot of loud music. Take a look!

Geez I would love to watch all my favourite sports on that mate!!!
I actually saw a 32 in. Tv the other day for only 80,000 yen and it was a Toshiba which
    is considered a good brand.
I say this because it is amazing how cheap Flat-screens have become
and do remember Nick buying I think the same size for around
500,000 yen a few years back. Saying that, I did buy a very small 17 in.
for about 240,000 yen about 8 years ago and now you can buy the same thing
for about 30,000 yen aaaaaaaaaaah I’m so stupid!!!!

Yeah, it was 450,000 yen for a 37 inch Panasonic. It’s had a lot of usage but is starting to show signs of aging now (flickering). At least the next one I get will be much cheaper, though in all honesty, I’d rather chuck it out and live without a TV all together. There aren’t any “must-see” shows anymore, anyway! Still, this street in Vegas would be my wife’s paradise – she loves TV!

I still have a traditional old style tv. To be honest I don’t really see a huge difference in picture quality. I think all of this business about HDTV is a load of crap. In fact I’m probably going to blog about it. I think it’s all just a plan by manufacturers to get us to buy new tvs, and man I think it’s working. Almost everyone has a flat screen now, except yours truly!

I agree with you Nick and aside from my daily 30 minute show of “Coronation Street” I hardly ever watch tv anymore. I cut my cable last month and have been busy enough without it!

        • Nick says

Oh how I miss Coronation Street! I’m surprised you cut cable since I remember you blogging about how great it was!

        • Mike says

Yeah, I love cable tv but it’s a bit expensive and I just don’t have time to watch it these days! Hmm maybe I will blog about that in the future!

    • Mike says

haha Keith, you are stupid! hey didn’t you feel like a stupid dummy when you bought that tv and the price went down? (In case you can’t tell, I’m quoting “Gordie” from Freddy Got Fingered when he watches his girlfriend fail in her to bid to make her rocket powered wheelchair work.)

Yeah you know it’s funny cause I was just saying to my friend the other day how the prices have gone down so much for those flat screens. The tvs just keep getting bigger and bigger too! I mean they are starting to approach the size of a wall! It’s insane I tell you! Insane!

      • Nick says

Love it, the “size of a wall” !!!! LOL!!! :-D

        • Mike says

Yeah, seriously, a wall!!!! Serious man, I’ve seen some 72 inch sets at the electronics stores here.. Sure they cost anywhere from 5 to 10 grand but I guess people are buying them!
