From the Stratosphere Hotel

February 2nd, 2008 by Mike

This is me pulling 4 G’s! No joke. As always I am in my classic “Peace Pose.” Remember folks, when posing for photos you should always take advantage of the “Peace!” If you like this photo you may want to check out other Peace poses in the following posts:

It’s all about the Peace

The Stratosphere Big Shot

I didn’t stay at this hotel but while walking down the strip I couldn’t help but explore it. The biggest thing about the Stratosphere Hotel literally and figuratively is the tower! At approximately 350 metres it one of the tallest free standing structures in the United States and probably the world. Not only that but it also features three thrill rides at the top of the tower making them the world’s highest thrill rides.

The Peppermill Restaurant

First you have the X Scream. This ride is basically a stationary car that extends over the edge, which is approximately 270 metres from the ground.

Second is the Insanity. The Insanity is basically a giant swing that brings you over the edge and whirls you at about 40 mph, again at around 270 metres above. I have to say it didn’t seem that fast but it was a fun ride.

Third is the Big Shot. I’ve been on a ride similar to this at Lotte World in Seoul, South Korea. This ride shoots you up so fast that you actually pull 4 G’s. The picture at the top of this post clearly demonstrates this fact.

You are like my 90 year old Grandpa. He doesn’t hold anything back, just says exactly what he thinks no matter what. I can’t imagine what you’ll be like when your 90. That’s a very scary thought!

Keith’s comment is too much but I can see why he wrote it
