Arctic Monkeys – The Kids All Dream of Making It/Whatever That Means

I haven’t written about any bands I’ve liked for a long time and so I’m going to dedicate this post to my current favorite band, “Arctic Monkeys.”

Arctic Monkeys have been around for a few years but really hit it big when they released their first album a couple of years ago. Almost overnight they became England’s favorite band and while they aren’t quite as popular on this side of the Atlantic, they bloody well should be!

Their latest album is entitled “Your Favorite Worst Nightmare” and here are my favorite 3 songs from that album.

#3 – Fluorescent Adolescent
#2 – Old Yellow Bricks
#1 – Teddy Picker

Teddy Picker
is an awesome song for many reasons. I don’t really know what the song is about but having said that I just love the lyrics. If you care to interpret the song than please feel free to do so in the comments section below. The actual song in the video doesn’t start until 30 seconds in to it, so please be patient. Trust me, it’s worth it!

Oh and here’s a song from their first album, “Whatever It Is People Say I am, That Is What I Am Not” It’s entitled “Mardy Bum.” I love the live version of this song cause you can always hear the crowd hum the tune in the background, especially when the song is first starting up.

No, you’re jealous. You’re jealous of their floppy hairstyles! Actually, I am too. If I had floppy hair hanging over my ears, I wouldn’t have to listen to these mardy bums! :-P
