Hiking in Arizona’s Tonto National Forest

Tonto Sign

Tonto National Forest is about a 1.5 hour drive east of Phoenix. It was a pretty easy hike and it had a lot of nice scenery as you’ll see in the following photos.

When you first start out you’ll hike along a creek which was quite surprising since I was in the middle of the desert.

Along the way there were many different types of cactus and me being me, I just couldn’t resist the temptation to touch them.

After about an hour and a half I reached the highest point on the trail. I can’t remember what they call the mountain in the background but I do remember running into some hikers who claimed to have spent the night there. Most importantly, I remembered to do my trademark peace pose.

Of course I do! You need one to stay there as long as I did. I mean I’ve been blogging about my Arizona trip for more than 2 months! Do you think I got all of this quality blogging material by only spending a week and a half in the States???
