Alcohol Sales - United States vs. Canada
March 15th, 2008 by Mike

Canada and the U.S. are alike in many ways but every now and again you see something that kind of catches you off-guard. I’m not sure why but in Canada when you sell alcohol you must have a completely separate shop. I guess it’s to try and deter minors from getting their hands on the stuff and with a government policy like that, how could you possible go wrong?
On the other hand in the States you can buy alcohol almost anywhere. The above picture was taken in regular grocery store and as you can see they weren’t exactly shy about what they were selling.

The picture above also kind of surprised me as Canadian alcohol seems to have fans down in the States. Another drink from Canada which seems to be quite popular around the world is “Canadian Club.” I don’t drink much alcohol myself but “Canadian Club” does seem to be popular around the world.

What kind of ID do you have to show to buy alcohol? I used to show my fake basketball club membership, but I don’t think that would cut it these days… you Americans would probably waterboard me!
We’ll waterboard you for no reason at all Nick!
