My New Baking Set

May 14th, 2008 by Mike

Every Friday at my office is “Treat Day.” On “Treat Day” one person has to bring some food for everyone else to share. Usually people bring things like cookies, cakes, or fruit. I usually buy muffins or cookies from the supermarket since I don’t have the proper baking equipment. A couple of my co-workers have given me a hard time for this, thinking that I’ve been taking the easy way out. I explained to them that I just didn’t have the equipment and so it was impossible for me to actually bake. Hmmmmm…. maybe I should have kept my mouth shut…..

I walked in to work about a week ago and this is what I found on my desk! A whole new baking set! The message on the box says it all…

My

I tried to make some brownies the other day and even though I was using a store-bought mix that’s suppose to be idiot-proof, I found a way to screw it up. My brownies came out rock hard! Don’t know how I really did it but I think I used too large a pan which caused the batter to be spread too thin. Oh well, next up is muffins! Hopefully I’ll have more luck with them!

Wow, you really are a modern man, Mike! Baking homemade brownies, and muffins next time! Do you have a fancy apron?

Or, sausage brownies; That ought to take up the space made
by using an extra-large pan.

I am willing to test your muffin! ;)
Do you know カステラ? It’s easy to make and taste great.
