The Kicking Horse River’s “Natural Bridge” In Canada’s Yoho National Park

Another Picture of The Natural Bridge at Yoho National Park

A few weeks ago I took a road trip with some friends and visited the Canadian Rockies. If you ever have the chance to visit Western Canada I highly recommend visiting Yoho, Banff, and Jasper National parks. These 3 national parks cover a huge area but it’s certainly possible to visit parts of them all on the same day. Sure you won’t see everything that they have to offer but I can guarantee you’ll see some really beautiful places. I know I did!

So by now you are probably banging your head against the wall, screaming “Mike, why is this place known as the Natural Bridge?” Well, take a look at the photo below. See how the mighty Kicking Horse River is bursting through the rock? That, my friend is a “Natural Bridge.” Gradually, the water is eroding the stone and in time, there will be no more “Natural Bridge.” I don’t know when that’s going to happen but I imagine it will be quite a while.

I should note (if you haven’t figured it out already) that the first and last photos on this page were shot at a very high ISO speed. In other words, the shutter on the camera remained open longer, blurring the water, giving a very nice effect, if I don’t say so myself.

So what are you waiting for? Get out there and see the “Natural Bridge” before it’s too late!

Beautiful place! Was John Wayne born here? Are there cowboys and Indians nearby? Are there big wild bears that jump up suddenly and eat you? Are there big wild cats that growl at night and scare the living s##t out of you?????

Or are there wonderful magic mushrooms that once eaten, you feel like you are floating above all that is so beautiful below???

I agree with Nick and think it looks like something out of Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory and certainly good enough to eat or drink or whatever tickles your fancy!!!
