Hawaii – Part 11 – The Hawaiian Statues

When you visit Honolulu, you’ll find that there are many statues placed in and around the touristy spots. You may then find yourself asking questions like…. Who are these people? What did they do here? Will they ever make a statue of me? Well I can’t tell you the answers to these questions with any degree of certainty, but I’ll try anyway… Don’t know, not sure, and absolutely not. However, what I can do is show you some of my photos.

Margarita Girl

The main drag on Waikiki is Kalakau Avenue and that’s where I found the statue shown above. OK so she’s not a statue, but a real human being with extremely long legs. When I saw her standing in front of Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville Restaraunt, I just knew I had to get a picture with her. You know what she said when I stood beside her? She said, “Oh you’re tall!” Seriously. Well, like I’m gonna argue with a 10 foot tall woman!

Oh Mommy! Hold me!

It’s been a while since I held like a baby. That brought back some nice memories. :)

The Original Surfer Dude

This picture is of the original surfer dude, Duke Kahanamoku and the statue is right on Waikiki beach.

Finally, we have King Kamehamehai.

Where are the pictures of Terumi? The bike ride looks like fun and the scenery great! You should have said it has a been a long time since I have been held like a baby. Can you change the wording?

I liked the tall woman best. She was so life-like!
