Today was Family Day at the Calgary Stampede which means you can get in for free if you arrive before 9 a.m. Not bad, considering the cost of admission is $14 for an adult this year.
There’s always lots to see and do at the Stampede and the cool thing is that everything you see in the rest of the post was free… Well, free with your $14 general admission. There’s also a number of other shows that are extra like the rodeo, and grandstand show. Those are really fun to watch but I went to those things last year so I skipped them this year.
The first show I went to was the “SuperDogs” show. The SuperDogs do lots of different things, like run obstacle courses, jump over barriers, and they even played a game of musical chairs.
Here’s one of the dogs jumping over a super high barrier. I think it was probably 6 feet. It might be hard to see but the dog is the blurry image in the pic.
This next photo was taken at an audio/visual exhibit. The whole thing was kind of lame but the laser beams were kinda’ sort’a cool. I felt like I was in a ColdPlay music video!
I went to the Heavy Horse Show which featured teams of Clydesdale horses. They were made up all pretty like. Quite a few people watched that show but to be honest 5 minutes of it would have been enough for me.
Check out this high diver.
Here he is seconds later…
And finally, the best for last.. Check out these crazy guys!

What is it, a traveling fair? A theme park? An annual festival? Ah, never mind, just Googled it. Very cool.
