I’m not much of a cook but just because I don’t know what I’m doing doesn’t mean I’m not gonna try!

Tonight I decided to try and make something healthy for dinner. So what you see above is the following, mashed potatoes, raw carrots, bbq chicken with some teriyaki sauce, coleslaw with some dressing, and a Coke! OK, so maybe that last part wasn’t so healthy, but hey you gotta live!

All in all it was pretty good meal. Lots of vegetables, chicken with no skin, and some tasty potatoes! I could have boiled the carrots but I heard that takes away some of the nutritional value. Besides, I’m kind of lazy and so skipping the boiling part makes it even better.

Before I begin this post I should mention that Telus is my telephone service provider and that they have not compensated me in anyway for this post. I just decided to write about this as I am impressed with their level of service. (At least in this particular case. )

The other day I got a phone call from Telus, telling me that they could save me money if I could just give them a few minutes of my time. Immediately I thought to myself… “mmm I’ve heard that before!” and was about to say no. I get phone calls like this all the time and didn’t believe it would be possible to save any more money since I have just the bare bones phone plan. Thankfully, I was bored out of my mind and therefore willing to entertain their request.

Well its a good thing I did, cause they were right! I was able to save a whopping $3.00 a month and not only that I got the caller ID service for free. I know what you’re thinking, that there’s got to be a catch. Well oh contraire mon fraire!!! There is no contract, just an overall lower rate. Oh yeah and I get 4 cent long distance in Canada, which isn’t bad either.

I’m still kind of perplexed as to why the Telus went out of its way by calling me to give me a lower rate and an extra service for free. I guess I’m a good customer but its rare these days to be rewarded for simply paying your bill on time. These savings are only a few dollars a month but hey I’d rather save $36+ a year than not. Now I can afford to take my lady friend out for a game of bingo! Woo-hoo!!!
